Hydroxylated telechelic polymers, process for their preparation and their use.

These hydroxylated telechelic polymers consist of homopolymers or random copolymers which are obtained by radical route from at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer M chosen from vinyl and diene monomers and which are alpha - and omega -ending in hydroxyl-containing groups denoted by the formula (I). To prepare them, the polymerisation of at least one monomer M is conducted in the presence of the thiuram disulphide of formula (II), and then a reaction of deprotection of the OH group carried by R<1> is carried out with R<1> = C2-C4 alkylene group, R2 = linear or branched C1-C10 alkyl or cycloalkyl or aryl or aralkyl group, and R<3> = hydroxyl-protecting group.
