<p>A drive for the automatic operation of sliding doors of vehicles which in a final phase of the closure movement have to follow a section of the corresponding guides which is arcuate or inclined with respect to the longitudinal direction of the main section thereof comprises an endless belt (3) to which the door (1) is fixed and which is stretched between two pulleys (4, 6), one (4) of which has a fixed position with respect to the door frame, whilst the other pulley (6) can be displaced between limits, suitably guided, so as to accommodate the transverse movement of the door relative to the door frame.
