<p>Aminothiophenes of the formula <IMAGE> in which R represents CN, COOX or CONXY, X represents H, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl, R1 represents X, R2 represents hetaryl or a radical of the formula <IMAGE> A represents the residual members of a carbocycle or heterocycle and Y represents H or alkyl are useful intermediates for the preparation of azo dyes and pharmaceutical and biological active substances.
