PURPOSE:To improve the far-infrared absorption function, radiation function and other valuable functions of conventional ceramic ware and to improve the efficiency and save the labor in the production process, especially baking process of the ceramic ware. CONSTITUTION:Kaolin, KAEROME-clay (a kind of pottery clay), alumina, zirconium silicate and water are kneaded, formed, dried and baked in a reducing atmosphere by increasing the baking temperature stepwise from about 600 deg.C to about 1200 deg.C. When the baking temperature reaches the transformation point of alumina in the course of the above baking process, the thermal transformation of alumina takes place to lose the crystal water and form gamma-alumina (so- called activated alumina), which forms a porous texture having crystal grain size decreased by the acceleration effect of zirconium silicate compounded to the material. A porous product having improved density and a new crystal structure formed by the metallic element based on the divided alumina can be produced by this process. The product is expected to have efficient far- infrared absorption and emission performance. |
