PURPOSE:To provide the production method of a metallic monolithic carrier which has excellent joint strength even with a small amt. of expensive brazing material, and is inexpensive and excellent in workability without deteriorating the working environment. CONSTITUTION:A stainless steel foil (50mum thickness) corrugate plate and a flat plate are altenately wound to form a honeycomb structure (85mmphimu120mm). The obtd. structure is dipped in a brazing material. This suspension of brazing material consists of 50-175 pts.wt., brazing material (BNi-5) powders suspended in 100 pts.wt. of 4% soln. containing cellulose-base water-soluble binder (e.g. carboxymethyl cellulose sodium, methyl cellulose, etc.). Then compressed air is blown from the one side of the structure to remove excess brazing material suspension. The structure is dried at 200 deg.C for one hour and treated by heating at 1180 deg.C in vacuum heat treatment furnace for about 20 min, and cooled to complete brazing. Thereby, the obtd. carrier has excellent tensile strength. |
