<p>PURPOSE:To realize the shortening of a bin selecting time by storing the position of a bin under prior use, and controlling the travel of an indexer in such a way as corresponding to a bin at an arbitrary position for next use, regarding a device equipped with a drive means for causing the vertical motion of the indexer. CONSTITUTION:A sorter is equipped with a plurality of bin stacks under a tray 2, for example, eight stacks of bins 3 (3a to 3h), and a gate 4a for feeding paper sheets P from a copying machine to the tray 2 and a conveyor belt 4b for feeding the sheets P from the machine to the bins 3 are respectively built into the body 1 of the sorter. Also, an indexer 5 for guiding the sheets P to each of the bins 3 is provided in such a way as freely movable in a vertical direction, and actuated with a drive unit 7 under control by a control means 12. In the case of the drive control, the position of a bin 8 under prior use is memorized, and the corresponding rotating direction and number of a drive shaft 7c necessary for the indexer 5 to travel to the bin 3 specified for next use are operated, thereby enabling the indexer 5 to travel to the target bin 3 without any stop at every bin 3.</p> |
