FLEXIBLE COMPOSITION CONTAINING QUATERNARY AMMONIUM FUNCTIONAL SILOXANE

PURPOSE: To prepare a softening composition capable of improving a fabric- softening effect in a small quantity consumed by including a specific silicon compound together with a surfactant. CONSTITUTION: This liquid softening composition improved in a softening effect is obtained by including a siloxane expressed by formula I [wherein R is a 1-6C alkyl; R' is a 1-18C alkyl or an aryl; R" is H or R'; X is chlorine, bromine, iodine, a nitrate or RSO4 <-> ; (a) is 1-10 and; (b) is 2 or 3] [especially preferably a quaternary ammonium functional siloxane of formula II (wherein Me is methyl)] together e.g. with a linear alkylbenzene sulfonate and additionally with a liquid carrier such as water or methanol. The softening agent can be used with a laundry detergent and is suitable as a constituent for a powdery detergent for a loom washer.
