PURPOSE:To improve perfectness of map information and to downsize navigation system to be installed in a mobile. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 9 selects five map numbers sequentially from the closest one to a current position including a scheduled route inputted through an input unit 4 from a map number memory 2 and delivers a map send request to a base station by radio. A radio unit 6 at a base station receives the map send request which is then delivered to a CPU 10. The CPU 10 selects a map corresponding to the requested map number from an external map memory 7 and transmits the map thus selected to the mobile. The CPU 9 in the mobile stores the map information in an internal map memory 8 and displays a map including current position on an image display 3 along with the current position. |
