PURPOSE:To prevent the false ink jet due to the fluctuations of pressure accompanied by the reciprocating motion of a carriage by providing a plurality of recording head different in allowable head value and controlling the acceleration at the time of the acceleration and deceleration of the carriage corresponding to the recording head selected from a receding mode. CONSTITUTION:In a color ink jet recording apparatus equipped with a carriage motor 8, a carriage motor driving part 6, a current restricting part 9 and a current restriction value changeover part 10, the setting of the current restriction value of the current restricting part 9 is changed over corresponding to the tolerant head value of the receding head driven corresponding to the selection result of a mode selection means 11 to alter the acceleration of a carriage. |
