PURPOSE:To provide a catalyst for purification of exhaust gas having purifying ability and durability comparable to those of an Rh- and Pt-contg. ternary catalyst for purification of exhaust gas and less expensive than the ternary catalyst. CONSTITUTION:This catalyst for purification of exhaust gas consists of a carrier substrate and a catalytic component layer formed by supporting palladium, alumina, cerium oxide and barium oxide as catalytic components with the surface of the carrier substrate by 1-20 g, 50-250g, 10-150g and 80-150g per 1l of the substrate, respectively. |
