PURPOSE:To approximate the fitting feel of the two-piece golf ball to the hitting feel of a yarn wound gold ball. CONSTITUTION:The two-piece golf ball consisting of a core formed of a rubber compsn. contg. a base material rubber, co-cross-linking agent and org. peroxide and a cover has a hardness distribution in which the central hardness in designation by a JIS-C type hardness meter is 58 to 73, the hardness at 5 to 10mm from the center is 68 to 78, the hardness at 15mm from the center is 76 to 88 and the surface hardness is 76 to 88. The respective hardnesses are fixed within the respective hardness ranges and the errors are + or -3. In addition, the compression deformation quantity when the ball is loaded with from 10kg initial load to 130kg final load is 2.8 to 3.5mm. The cover has 1.5 to 2.1mm thickness. |
