<p>PURPOSE:To remove NOx from gas to be treated with high efficiency and at a low cost and without leaving harmful by-products, etc., in the treated gas by oxidizing NO of low concentration NO contg. gas to NO2 by corona discharge and absorbing and removing NO2 by an alkaline liquid absorbent. CONSTITUTION:Relatively low concentration gaseous NO contg. gas to be treated flows in a corona oxidizing device 2 through a inflow port 1. A discharge electrode 3 is installed in the corona oxidizing device 2 in the form of being electrically isolated from an opposite electrode 6. High voltage is applied to the opposite electrode 3 by a high voltage power unit 7 to oxidize almost all gaseous NO to gaseous NO2. When the gas where gaseous NO has been oxidized to gaseous NO2 is introduced into an absorber 8 and passed through a packed bed 9 where a liquid absorbent is sprayed from a spray nozzle 10, gaseous NO2 contained in the treated gas is absorbed on the liquid absorbent side. After the treated gas that has been passed through the packed bed 9 and rid of gaseous NO2, is rid of water droplets, etc., in a demister 11, it is discharged as purified gas from an outflow port 12.</p> |
