PURPOSE:To provide a simple and secure information transmission mechanism which displays the paper size information in a cassette to store the paper of regular size to be used in a printer or a copier according to the paper size, and transmits the information to the device body. CONSTITUTION:A size display mechanism 3 which is switched by an operator is provided on a front panel 2 of a cassette 1 to store the paper of regular size to be used in a printer or a copier according to the paper size, and a coding means 4 where the size number is switched interlockingly with the switching of the size display mechanism 3, e.g. a pressing part 4-1 is provided on the rear side of the size display mechanism 3. The coding means 4 transmits the size information indicated by the size display mechanism 3 by driving a detecting means 6 mounted on the device, e.g. by selectively driving a switch 6-1 when the cassette 1 is mounted on the device body of the printer or the copier. |
