PURPOSE: To provide a transverse wind turbine for utilizing wind to the maximum extent by providing guide vanes which move actively in the rotational direction of a rotor to enable rotor blades to face the wind irrespective of wind direction. CONSTITUTION: Each incident plane of guide vanes 1 runs from the rotary central axis III-III of a rotor through the inner end of respective guide vane, and has an inclined angle (w) with respect to an imaginary perpendicular plane dividing the entire engine into two cylindrical halves. A first perpendicular plane III-III is parallel to the incident direction of the wind. As viewed toward the wind direction, this plane is a plane which divides the engine into a right side and a left side. What decides the capacity of the guide vanes is a particular combination of the inclined angle, width and space, by which the inevitable draw back effect on the rotor side moving against the wind direction is eliminated. |
