PURPOSE:To provide a vehicle navigation system for displaying current position through the use of predictive navigation system and satellite navigation system in which current position of vehicle can be detected positively even if radio wave from a GPS is subjected to SA and error is enlarged. CONSTITUTION:A predictive position calculating section 12 calculates current position of vehicle based on a detection signal from a prediction sensor 10. A moving vector calculating section 14 calculates the moving vector of vehicle (which goes zero upon stoppage of vehicle) at a predetermined time interval and delivers the moving vector thus calculated to a GPS error shape reoperating section 18. The reoperating section 18 is also fed with a position data detected through satellite navigation system from a GPS receiver 22. A region being employed for map matching is then specified in position error region based on the relationship of magnitude between the moving distance of moving vector and the distance between two positions at predetermined time interval and then the region thus specified is delivered to a current position calculating section 16. |
