PURPOSE:To improve and stabilize the quality of a cast slab by restraining the deterioration of oxidation caused by the air in continuous casting for metal of steel, etc., and making a long nozzle the long service life and the stabilization. CONSTITUTION:In the continuous casting for metal, the long nozzle is integratively formed by arranging oxidizing resistant refractory material layer 9 composed of ZrO2-SiC-C containing low m.p. glass component over the range from 1mm to 15mm of the thickness on the outer surface 2 of non-dipping part in molten metal, which is not brought into contact with the molten metal during casting. By this method, at the time of continuously casting the metal, the deterioration caused by the oxidation on the outer surface part which is not dipped into the molten metal, is restrained, and extremely good effects are obtd. in the economical points and the reliability in the continuous casting operation, such as the safety and the stabilization of the casting, the stabilization of the quality in the cast slab, the improvement of durability and the reduction of trouble in the nozzle itself. |
