PURPOSE:To reduce the influence of flickering only when the photometry result is significantly affected by the flickering. CONSTITUTION:In a photometry controller for a camera provided with a photometric means 7 for photometering an object field by an accumulation type photoelectric conversion element so as to output a photometric signal in accordance with the brightness of the object field, an accumulation time control means 13 for controlling the accumulation time of the photoelectric conversion element and a brightness value calculating means 10 for calculating the brightness value based on the photometric signal from the photometric means 7, the controller is provided with a selective means 14 for selecting either of a 1st brightness value calculating system for reducing the influence by the flickering of a light source and a 2nd brightness value calculating system having no consideration as to the influence by the flickering based on the accumulation time decided by the accumulation time control means 13, and the brightness value calculating means 10 is constituted so that the brightness value may be calculated in accordance with the calculating system selected by the selective means 14. |
