PURPOSE: To avoid the use of an equalizer inside a mobile station during the initialization of a calling processing between the mobile station and a base station. CONSTITUTION: In a mobile station M, whether or not to connect the equalizer during the initialization of calling from the mobile station M to the base station B1-B3 is investigated. The quality of the signals of a dedicated channel of maximum signal strength is measured without using an equalizer. When the quality of the signals cannot be allowed, the equalizer is used and new detection is performed. Then, when the quality of the signals cannot be allowed, different detection is performed without using the equalizer in a dedicated control channel (DCCH2) which is provided with the next strong signals. When it is recognized that the quality of the signals is allowed by the detection, the base station B2 for transmitting the control channel is selected by the mobile station M, and calling is advanced further. Thus, the unnecessary use of the equalizer is prevented, and power consumption is reduced. |
