PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal display controller and a liquid crystal display device capable of reducing power consumption and prolonging a drive time for a portable personal computer. CONSTITUTION:In the liquid crystal display controller 100 display-controlling a liquid crystal panel 101, this controller is provided with a drive means 102 dividing a display area in the liquid crystal panel 101 into plural partial display areas PD1, PD2, and making the partial display area PD1 selected by a control signal C from the outside a drive state, and making the other partial display area PD2 a non-drive state. Further, the liquid crystal display device having the liquid crystal display controller 100 is provided with a partial lighting means lighting the partial display area PD1 being at least in the drive state based on the control signal C from the outside. |
