PURPOSE:To approximate a visual sensation characteristic to nondirectivity so that a liquid crystal display panel can be visually admitted without hindrance form any directions by providing the front surface side of the liquid crystal display panel with a panel body for light diffusion. CONSTITUTION:A light diffusion plate 7 as the panel body for light diffusion is disposed on the front surface of the liquid crystal display panel 2. This light diffusion plate 7 is constituted by dispersing and mixing white pigments into a transparent resin material, such as, for example, polyester, vinyl chloride or acrylic, and molding the mixture or subjecting the surface of a plate material consisting of the transparent resin material of the same material to chemical or mechanical surface roughening. The liquid crystal display panel 2 side surface of the light diffusion plate 7 is preferably subjected to the surface roughening in view of the dispersion efficiency in the case the light diffusion plate is subjected to the surface roughening. The light transmitted through the liquid crystal display panel 2 is scattered evenly in respective directions by transmitting the liquid crystal display panel 2 and therefore, the contrast ratio and the directivity in the wavelength fluctuation existing in the transmitted light are made gentle and are nearly uniformalized. Then, the visual sensation characteristic of the liquid crystal display device 1 is approximated to the nondirectivity. |
