发明名称 SOLID LASER OSCILLATOR
摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce thermal lens effect having anisotropy, thermal aberration effect and thermal double refraction effect of a solid laser medium, by equipping the end surface of the solid laser medium with a heat dissipating member having a hole whose shape corresponds to distribution of heat generated by pumping light. CONSTITUTION:An elliptic light output hole 7a is formed in a heat dissipating plate 7 the center of which hole is set at the center O of semiconductor laser from a semiconductor laser chip 1. The minor axis of the elliptic hole is in parallel with the active layer of the semiconductor laser, and the major axis is perpendicular to the active layer. By the effect of the light output hole 7a, the heat dissipating properties in the direction parallel with the active layer of the semiconductor laser differ from the heat dissipating properties in the direction perpendicular to the active layer. Hence anisotropic thermal distribution caused by pumping light is compensated, and the anisotropy of stored heat which appears in solid laser medium becomes small. That is, when a light source like a semiconductor laser having anisotropic radiation distribution is used, thermal lens effect having anisotropy of solid laser medium, thermal aberration effect and thermal double refraction effect are reduced.
