PURPOSE:To accurately obtain a line of sight by an eye-ball even in the case of using a light source positioned at a finite distance. CONSTITUTION:As to the device for detecting the line of sight provided with an illuminating means 101 for illuminating observer's eye-ball, a line of sight calculating means 102 for calculating the line of sight by the eye-ball based on the reflected image on the eye-ball which is illuminated by the illuminating means 101, the line of sight is calculated by the line of sight calculating means 102 by using a distance between the illuminating means 101 and the central position of the cornea curvature of the eye-ball.
