PURPOSE: To recover the timing in an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) receiver by extracting a system clock reference(SCR) from reception information, so as to fix a system time clock(STC) via a PLL circuit. CONSTITUTION: Data sent in the ATM from a remote place are received and a system decoder/SCR extract device 210 extracts an SCR, and an STC, which is outputted from a system time clock generator 208 that is a component of a PLL with a counter 214, is synchronously fixed to the SCR. A jitter delay Dj , in response to a monitoring result of an image data buffer 202 from a jitter delay calculation unit 217, is added to the STC to allow overflow/underflow of the buffer 202 to be coped with. Thus, timing of the ATM digital receiver is recovered. |
