<p>PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic recording and reproducing device which can perform successive recording without damaging video information already recorded after checking fill-up and shorten a time for checking fill-up. CONSTITUTION:When a head check switch 10 is turned on in video recording, a system control section 1 rewinds a tape 50 by making a capstan motor 3 rotate in the reverse direction via a capstan servo circuit 6, and a counted value for a speed detecting pulse of a speed detector 4 is stored in a memory 9. After that, the system control section 1 performs reproducing sending frames of the tape 50 in the forward direction, when the number of the speed detecting pulses at the time of this sending frames reproducing coincides with the value stored in the memory 9, the sending frame reproducing is stopped. After that, when recording is started again, since the last end field in which sending frames reproducing is performed coincides with the last end of the field already recorded, rerecording is performed from the next field succeeded to the last end of the field already recorded.</p> |
