PURPOSE:To prepare a user's exclusive KANJI (Chinese character) dictionary by executing a merger in such a manner that a KANJI not used usually is put outside an object of the merger in the case of merging the dictionary. CONSTITUTION:When an operator executes an instruction input of a dictionary merger processing from a keyboard 1, first of all, data of a fundamental KANJI dictionary 5 are all outputted to an exclusive KANJI dictionary 7. Subsequently, when data of an applied KANJI dictionary 6 is buffered to a data register 41, and a used mark is detected in a used mark detecting part 42, its KANJI is outputted to the exclusive KANJI dictionary 7, but it is not outputted to the exclusive KANJI dictionary 7 unless the used mark is detected. This processing is continued until the data of the applied KANJI dictionary 6 are all processed, and as a result, a user's exclusive KANJI dictionary 7 is prepared. In such a way, an increase of the capacity of the user's exclusive KANJI dictionary can be prevented, and also, a KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI conversion can be executed efficiently. |
