PURPOSE:To attain a smoothing regardless of the characteristic of a printing part by selecting preliminarily designated one kind of pattern, or one kind of pattern corresponding to the state of the printing part from among stored plural kinds of templet patterns, and resolution-converting printing data according to the pattern. CONSTITUTION:A host computer 11 is constituted of an I/O device 12, CPU 13, ROM 14, RAM 15, and font ROM 16 or the like, and when the printing data are inputted from the computer 11, the device constituted of the devices 12-ROM 16 is operated. That is, the outputs from those devices are supplied through a system bus 20 to serially connected page memory 17, high resolution converter 18, and printing part 19, and displayed at a printer 10. That is, after the operation for one page is finished, bit map data in the memory 17 are doubled in resolution in vertical and horizontal directions by the device 18, and printed by the printing part 19 while improving resolution. |
