PURPOSE:To provide a duplex circuit capable of easily performing the communication of a centralized control node and a duplexed node control circuit while holding a conventional synchronous operation function. CONSTITUTION:A routing field inside the expansion header of an ATM cell used inside a node is divided into a circuit identification area and a device identification area and a comparator circuit for discriminating information addressed to the present node control circuit using the received value of an ATM cell header is provided. At the time of transmitting signals, the duplex circuit of the node control circuit provided with a selection circuit for passing only the signals from the node control circuit of an operation system is constituted. Thus, since the route of the signals to be transmitted to all the duplexed node control circuits and the route of the signals to be respectively transmitted/ received can be divided, file updating and abnormality checkup, etc., are made without separating a spare system while holding the conventional synchronous operation function.
