PURPOSE:To obtain the detecting device capable of the refrigerant ratio and liquid amt. in lubricant of a refrigerating compressor without stopping operation, CONSTITUTION:In a refrigerating compressor constituted by providing an oil sump 5 for lubricant L in a hermetically closed casing 1 having a compression mechanism received therein, a reflecting plate 20 is provided in the oil sump 5 so as to be separated from the bottom surface of the casing 1 by a predetermined distance and an ultrasonic probe 24 is arranged to the outer surface of the bottom wall 23 of the casing in opposed relation to the reflecting plate 20. Further, a measuring circuit 27 measuring the time required when the ultrasonic waves emitted from the ultrasonic probe 24 is reflected by the reflecting plate 20 to return to the ultrasonic probe 24, an operation circuit 28 operating the ultrasonic acoustic velocity in the lubricant L from the required time and a mixing ratio detecting circuit 29 calculating the refrigerant mixing ratio in the lubricant L from the relation between the obtained acoustic velocity and a preliminarily calculated refrigerant mixing ratio are provided. |
