PURPOSE: To obtain an analyzer which can generate a spectroscopic picture showing the distribution of a specific chemical species on a sample 100 having a rough source with high sensitivity. CONSTITUTION: In order to find the spectrum of the surface 110 of a sample, a pulsed electromagnetic wave source 210 and interferometer 220 are used. The source 210 generates monochromatic electromagnetic waves by using a wide-band electromagnetic source and monochrometer. The source 210 can use a monochromatic electromagnetic source instead of the wide-band electromagnetic wave source and monochrometer. When the pulsed electromagnetic waves are made incident to the surface 110 and the surface 110 absorbs the waves, the surface 110 expands and the dimensional change of the surface 110 thus produced is detected by means of the interferometer 220 using a monochromatic electromagnetic wave and, at the same time, the momentary distance between the surface 110 and interferometer 220 is measured. When an image pickup device, such as the video camera, etc., is used as a detector for the interferometer 220, the spatial distribution of chemical species on the surface 110 can be found. |
