A flight of steps (3) leading up to a door (4) gives access to the interior of a hollow sphere (2) ventilated by an air duct and extractor (5,7). The bed, mounted on springs on a platform (5), consists of closely spaced fibres at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the human body whose centre of gravity (S) reposes at the centre of the sphere. All accessories, including a loudspeaker (9) and a heartbeat microphone for external monitoring, are located below the centre for an uninterrupted view of the upper hemisphere if it is illuminated by lamps (8). A warm bath of salt water is proposed as an alternative to the bed.
