The device has a cam carrier (4) executing a rotational movement and having a surface which contains a closed cam (11) and the generatrix (E) of which is an arc of a circle, and a control lever (5) which executes an oscillating movement and which is in engagement with the cam (11) and is pivotable about an axis of rotation (3) passing through the centre point of the generatrix (E). The device is characterised by a small space requirement and good stroke adjustment.
