Displacement engine with variable volume working chambers - uses grid made up of wall segments to create working chambers

The engine has four working chambers with variable volumes formed between a rotating plate (2) and a fixed plate (3), using a grid (4) comprising twelve wall segments. A sealed housing (2,9,10) for the working medium is completed by inlet (15) and outlet (16) openings placed outside the grid, such that the housing chamber is serially connected to the working chambers during the total operating cycle. ADVANTAGE - Improves sealing performance, bearing load behaviour and continuity of flow.
