The circumferential wall of the cylinder hub has a conical part (6) in which the ventilation openings (7) are formed in the casting mould without the need for a core. The conical part forms the transition between two cylinder areas (4,5) of different dia. wherein the larger dia. area (4) lies towards the disc rim (2). The ID of the First cylinder area (4) is pref. larger than the OD of the second area (5). USE/ADVANTAGE - Simplified casting and shaping of ventilated brake disc for vehicle avoiding need to use a core.
