To treat hair and scalp after treatments such as shampooing or dyeing or permanent waving etc. warm water is taken from a mains supply together with CO2 gas from a gas supply, at a pressure significantly below the static pressure of the water supply. The gas is connected to the water flow at a point where the static water pressure is brought below the CO2 gas pressure. The pH value is set precisely at a value between 5-6, esp. 5.2, and constantly controlled.
