The device (11) incorporates a distance measuring unit (29). This detects any slip of the beam (13) relative to the advance device. This information (30) is fed into a control unit (23) for a towing device (21), to correct the movement (12') of the beam using the advance device. The measuring unit incorporates a roller (32) to drive an increment counter (37). The unit is coupled to a beam via a lever (24). The lever causes a towing shoe (25) on the surface of the beam. The measuring unit is put into engagement with the beam by a pressure spring (34). USE/ADVANTAGE - Construction of prefab. housing which permits reliable, precise, and reproducible positioning.
