A sensing device measures the different distances of the mounting part of a rotor and generates a signal if there is a deviation from the desired position. The sensing device consists of an air flow outlet aperture (4) with a compressed air source (12) and arranged at the planned position (9) of a clamp device (6). The outlet flow or press. of the outlet aperture is measured, and a signal is generated by an evaluation device if there is a deviation wrt. a desired value to indicate that the planned position has not been reached. USE/ADVANTAGE - For monitoring planned position of rotors in clamp device. Balancing quality of rotors without bearing journals is improved by achieving accurate clamping.
