A ski is produced with a surface tray section, a sole and a prefabricated core; in the process the core and reinforcements are wrapped round with prepreg material, and they are hot pressed together with the edges, the sole and surface section at temps. which cause the resin to flow and cure. The top female (1) tool and bottom tool (2) mould the ski. The latter tool (2) receives the sole (3) and edge elements (4), on to which the core (6) and suitable layers (7, 8) of reinforcement are placed. Both the interior (6) and outer layers (7, 8) of the core are enveloped with prepreg (9). The top surface layer (10) is prefabricated. The moulding temp. pressure used cure the prepreg (9) besides bonding the whole core (5), top surface (10) and sole (3) plus edges (4) together. ADVANTAGE - The method enables prefabricated components to make into skis in one simple operation. No further operations are required. It makes products with the necessary hardness and elasticity. It does not require extended production times.
