The transmission device uses a helically wound signal line (10) contained within a circular cassette comprising a rotatable rotor (11) and a fixed stator (12), their relative angular position fixed via respective toothed crowns around the periphery of the rotor and the stator, in the cassette assembly position. The rotor and stator can be displaced axially relative to one another between stable assembly and working positions, the two toothed crowns lying in different planes out of engagement with one another in the working position.
