Aq. liq. body-cleaning compsn. contains 5-50% at least one anionic surfactant (A) of the sulphate, sulphonate or alkyl phosphonate types and (the new features) a mixt. of (a) 0.1-5% polyether carboxylic acid, or its salts of formula R-(C2H4O)n-OCH2-COOX (I) (R = 8-10C alkyl; n = 2-20; and X = H, alkali or alkaline earth metals, or NH4 (opt. substd. by alkyl or hydroxyalkyl)); and (b) 0.25-5% surface active amine oxide (II) and (c) 0.1-5% amphoteric surfactant (III), all % by wt. of total compsn. Opt. the compsn. also contains 1-15 wt.% nonionic surfactant, esp. 2.5-10% alkyl polyglucoside of formula Ra-)-(R'O)mZx (V) Ra = 8-18C alkyl; R1 = ethylene or propylene; Z = 5-6C sugar residue; x = 1-2.5. USE/ADVANTAGE - The compsn. is useful as foam bath, shower gel or shampoo. When used with water the compsn. produces a stable, creamy foam which conditions the skin and hair. Esp. is leaves dry hair glossy, soft and supple.
