Rectangular metal pressure tank has rounded edges (16, 20). The novelty is that the vessel is fabricated as a double-walled unit with an inner metal wall, and that the outer (40) sidewalls (12, 14) incorporate a large number of cup-shaped indentations (36). The indentations pref. are only located in the tank's central sidewall areas, leaving the corner areas smooth. The inner wall (42) surfaces (14') are flat. USE/ADVANTAGE - The vessel stores or is used to transport combustible fluids such as oil and petrol. The vessel can withstand large sudden increases in internal pressure (to 1.6 MPa) without leaking.
