A process for the preparation of amines from olefins and ammonia or primary or secondary amines at temperatures of between 60 DEG C and 400 DEG C and pressures of between 40 and 700 bar in the presence of a zeolite catalyst by carrying out the reaction in the presence of a gallium silicate zeolite of the pentasil type.
