摘要 <p>The aim of the invention is the almost complete retention of support material discharged from reactors for water treatment, in particular from fluidised bed reactors, in a separation unit connected downstream of the reactors and cleaning thereof from biomass overgrowth and recirculation into the reactor. According to the invention, the water stream containing the entrained support material (8) leaving the reactor is passed towards an impact plate (4) contained in a gas space (7) of a separation unit (1) arranged downstream of the reactor. The increasing density difference between material and water, after the return to the water surface situated beneath the gas space (7), effects a floatation of the support material (8) in the settling space in which the flow is vertically downwards. Beneath the water surface (6), the floating support material (8) is withdrawn from the separation unit (1) at the side by means of an ejector (10) having a propellent water connection (11) and is recirculated into the reactor. Guide rings (5) or jet dispersers (16) can be mounted on one or more impact plates (4). The cross-section of the cylindrical separation unit below the suction connection piece (9) is expanded in the shape of a truncated cone. <IMAGE></p>
