The invention relates to a plug with a butting and a butt contact strip and at least one L-shaped fixed contact in the butting contact strip made of electrically conductive sheet metal having a connection point on a first leg of the L and a contact surface on a second leg. The contact surface of the fixed contact, with the butt and butting contact strips in the plugged-in position, bears on the appropriate contact surface of a counter-contact in the butt contact strip. In addition, the contact surface of the fixed contact is inclined at an angle to the plug-in direction of the butt and butting contact strips and the tangent of the angle of inclination is greater than the coefficient of friction between the fixed and counter-contacts. It is purpose of the invention to develop a simplified and economical design for the casing, especially of the fixed contacts for a plug of the type described in the preamble with good relative movement during the plug-in process. This purpose is achieved in that the angle of inclination is in a plane formed by the two legs of the L of the sheet-metal strip and the electrically conductive strip has an attachment contiguous with the second leg of the L and bent back in the direction of the first leg which has a tab engaging in an undercut in a contact support of the casing and the first leg of the L-shaped strip has a spring detent projecting transversely to the first leg, the strip being connected onto the contact support between the spring detent and the tab to surround the latter.
