<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a composite panel light in weight, superior in durability and processability, and improved in fracture toughness required esp. as floor covering materials by a method wherein glass short fiber chopped strands are spreaded to be laminated on a glass cloth impregnated with a thermosetting resin and thereon a dry powder composition-spreaded layer is provided. CONSTITUTION:A glass or carbon fiber-made cloth 1 previously impregrated with a thermosetting resin is placed on a release sheet. Thereon, glass or carbon short fiber chopped strands 2 are spreaded in a two-dimensionally random manner to be laminated. In this manner, a mat is formed. Thereon, a dry powder composition 3 mainly composed of an inorganic powder body and a thermosetting resin is further spreaded. This laminate mat having a multilayer structure is inserted to a hot press to be pressed under heat for a predetermined time. In this manner, the thermoplastic resin is reacted to be cured, and the inorganic powders are so tightly compressed that voids are reduced. Thus, the obtained composite has a multilayer structure in which the reinforcing short fibers and the inorganic light-weight aggregate are securely bonded with each other.</p> |
