PURPOSE:To provide the dressing method to obtain tips for the welding machine which surely ensures operation of a tip dresser and eliminates a stepped part from the curved surface of the tips by rotating cutters in advance before the tips are cut and formed and further, carrying out finishing work after ordinary cutting and forming. CONSTITUTION:The tips 17 and 18 for the welding machine are advanced for the chip dresser and in dressing the tips in a pressurized state on the tip dresser, the cutters are driven to rotate to pressurize the cutters 7 and 8 by the tips before the tips 17 and 18 for the welding machine are abutted on the cutters 7 and 8 of the chip dresser, by which dressing is started, cutting and forming are performed in a pressurized state for a specified time, then, in a state with rotation of the cutters of the tip dresser continued as it is, pressurization of the tips is gradually relaxed while the tips are retreated and finishing work is performed. |
