PURPOSE: To obtain a printer equipped with a rotationally driven printing cartridge not having a special mechanism for feeding paper. CONSTITUTION: A cartridge 38 includes a plurality of paper taking-up strips 46 provided along its outer surface thereof at an equal interval and an idler roller and is driven so as to directly come into contact with paper during the feed of paper and printing. During non-printing and next preparation, a paper stack is separated from the surface of the cartridge in order to avoid the contact with the cartridge 38 and, at the same time, the cartridge 38 is rotated clockwise. When the succeeding paper is taken up and printed, the cartridge 38 is rotated counterclockwise and directly brought into contact with the uppermost paper of the lifted paper stock to be driven so as to feed the paper to a printing area. At this time, a drive roller 74 drives paper between a photoconductive drum 42 and a transfer roller 68 and an image is printed on the paper. |
