Amines endowed with chain extension activity for formulations such as polyureas and polyurethanes are disclosed, which have the general formula: (* CHEMICAL STRUCTURE *) wherein n is 0-1000; R1=R2, and R1 and R2 are from the group -CH2-CH2-; -CH2-C(CH3)H-; and -C(CH3)H-CH2-; and R3 and R4 are each independently selected from the group consisting of H, -CH3, -CH2CH3, -CH2OH, and -CH2-CH2-OH; and the diasteromeric salts thereof.
