<p>PURPOSE:To furnish a melting type thermal transfer printer which can print with an excellent grade both an image part for which multi-gradation recording is conducted and a character-figure part for which binary recording is conducted. CONSTITUTION:A gradation image signal taken in by an image input device 1 is converted into a gradation signal by an A/D conversion device 4 and inputted to an editing device 5, while a character-figure prepared by a character- figure preparing device 6 is inputted as a binary signal to the editing device 5. The editing device 5 executes layout, scaling and mixing of an image and the character-figure and inputs the result as an edit signal to a printing part 3. According to this edit signal, the printing part 3 executes binary recording for binary recording data with all of heating resistors of a thermal head heated, while it executes multigradation recording for multigradation recording data with the heating resistors heated at an interval of one or more of them and also by area gradation recording using the temperature gradient of the heating resistors.</p> |
