PURPOSE: To obtain a method and device which allow even an unskilled technician to accurately calibrate an image forming device. CONSTITUTION: A method and device for calibrating an image forming device 32 which is constituted to scan an image in its visual field along a plurality of electric photosensitive detectors and generates the drift of a small number of carriers by impressing an electric bias along the detectors. The electric bias is adjusted until the carrier drift becomes coincident with the scanning speed of the device 32 by giving a high-contract target pair 34 in the visual field and discriminating the drift from the highest identification of the target pair 34 in the outputs of the detectors. |
