PURPOSE:To improve insertibility by making the same with the material of a softening portion consisting of a uniform softening part and/or a part whose softenability changes slopewise due to orientation alleviating processing, and with the material of a non-softening portion, discriminating the tensile elasticity rate of the softening portion from that of the non-softening portion at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:A mono-layer or multi-layer tube formed in homogeneity is composed of a softening portion consisting of a uniform softening part and/or a part whose softenability changes slopewise due to orientation alleviating processing and a non-softening portion, and the materials of the softening portion and the non-softening portion are made same, and the tensile elasticity rate of the softening portion is discriminated from that of the non-softening portion by more than 5%. This catheter is excellent in insertibility into a body and also excellent in followability in regard to the bending surface of a blood vessel or the like. Also, its manufacture is very simple, and is inexpensive and suited for mass production. Accordingly, an inexpensive and useful catheter is obtained, and the pliability of the softening portion and the non-softening portion can also be controlled extensively. |
